Rohm 7 Digit, 7 Segment Display with LEDs
The review by Glenn in Texas was accurate and helpful. However, the unit works well, and at the current sale price $0.29 its a steal. Note this is a multiplexed display. I used an Arduino Pro Mini to drive it. To improve contrast, I used a little piece of Duck Brand Translucent Tail Light Tape costs < $4 at WalMart. If you dont need the individual big LEDs at the bottom of the display, you only need to plug the top pins into a standard 0.1 inch pitch breadboard. I hooked mine up to a DS3231 real-time clock, and wrote code to create a scrolling date/time display. Works great!

Data sheet not quite complete
The data sheet is accurate for what is reported, however here are some stats that are not included: Digits are approx. 5.8mm H x 3.3mm W - they are small. Useable forward current is about 5.0 mA - any more and the segments bleed over to adjacent segments. The pins in a given row are on 2.54mm centers, however, the distance between the upper and lower rows is not a factor of 2.54mm - so dont expect these displays to plug into a proto-board or breadboard without bending a full row of pins. The pins on the bottom row are approx. 6mm long while the pins on the top row are approx. 3.5mm long. Still a lot of digits and LEDs to tinker with.
